Is my camera compatible with Teleprompter PAD iLight PRO?

I already own a camera. Can I use it with the TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO 12" or 14"?

Excluding ENG professional cameras (shoulder-cams), you can use a variety of cameras or devices with the TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO model:

Compact digital cameras
DSLRs (Like Canon EOS series, Nikon D series, or similar)
Mirrorless cameras (like Sony A7iii, Fuji XT3, Nikon Z series or similar)
Handycams
Prosummer cameras
Professional cameras (like Sony NX100, Canon C100, Panasonic AG-CX350 or similar)
Smartphones (Clip adapter included in the kit)
Sports cameras like GoPRO* (Clip adapter required, not included in the kit)
Webcams*

*NOTE: The use of any teleprompter (not exclusively TeleprompterPAD) requires recording at a minimum distance of 1.5m - 2.0m (5.0ft - 6.5ft), therefore a closed FOV (Field Of View) is required, in other words, greater focal length (or commonly mis-called "zoom"). Some sports cameras and webcams, include lenses with a very wide FOV, also called "wide angle lens", optimized only for close-up shooting, if you use one of these cameras on a teleprompter you will probably have to edit the video in post production. However, many models of sports cameras and webcams, have different FOV setups or allow zooming. These models are most recommended for use on a teleprompter.

Maximum accepted camera size

If after reading the list in the previous section, you still have doubts about whether the size of your camera is accepted, there is an easy trick that determines the accepted size limitation:

The distance from the front of your camera lens to the screw where you attach the tripod to your camera.

Since the materials and rugged construction of the TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO would accommodate a camera of virtually any weight and size (the weight limitation will mostly be dictated by your tripod), the key is actually the length of the camera.

So if your camera size does not exceed the lenght of the camera plate of the Teleprompter, then your camera is compatible. Learn about the maximum camera lenghts recommended for every model in the following section.

TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO 12": maximum camera length recommended

20cm / 8 inches is the maximum recommended lenght for you camera to be compatible with the TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO 12" (distance from the front of your camera lens to the screw where you attach the tripod to your camera).

TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO 14": maximum camera length recommended

25cm / 10 inches is the maximum recommended lenght for you camera to be compatible with the TeleprompterPAD iLight PRO 14" (distance from the front of your camera lens to the screw where you attach the tripod to your camera).
